Intriguing Philosophy -
Our journey began with indoor farming of saffron. After a quality check, we were thrilled to discover it was of the highest grade, meeting the purity standards outlined in the ISO 3632 test. However, we were unable to meet the growing demand with our own production. We attempted to outsource saffron of the same quality from Kashmir, but were disappointed to learn that the highest grade is primarily exported, leaving the domestic market saturated with adulterated and substandard products.
Quest for Purity -
Determined to provide the best, we traveled to Kashmir ourselves. We had the saffron tested at a government lab and meticulously selected only the highest grade that matched our indoor farmed product. We collaborated with the farmers there and thus brought to our country the purest Kashmiri Mongra Saffron. It was then packaged with the utmost hygiene and all precautions to provide the best quality now in our country.
Essence of Luxury -
Dark red tips/heads of stigmas, ideally the first 17 millimetres, are the most potent parts of the ‘Crocus sativus’ flower. A high concentration of these dark red stigmas indicates higher colouring strength. Kashmiri Mongra Saffron, a testament to nature’s artistry, requires the hand-harvesting of nearly 170,000 flowers per kilogram. This labour-intensive process highlights its rarity. It’s the rarest Saffron, with annual production limited to 2000-2500 kg, less than 1% of the global output.
